August 13th Meeting Minutes
Club Officers 2012
President – Jack Rudibaugh
Vice President – Charlie Aubrey
Treasurer – Job Wilson
Secretary – Brian Wilson
1. Club Finances
2. Evansville Open Recap
-The 2012 Evansville Open was the Ace Eagle Disc Golf Club’s biggest tournament to date.
-17 Professionals
-97 Amateurs
-During the tournament we received positive feedback from out of town, despite the unbearable heat.
-Some improvements for the future:
-The player’s party needs to be more organized with one person in charge. Rob Scott has already volunteered to take on this job.
-Getting CTP’s out during the round is a big “must”.
-We have to get the Ace Eagle Logo on our shirts.
-Ideas for the future:
-Possibility of an A/B Tier
-Cooking food, and donating the profit for charity.
3. Club Picnic Recap
-44 people attended the club picnic
-29 people played in the Ace Race
-It was a great time, in the future it would be great to see more people bring their families.
-Cost:
-$53-Shelter
-$50-Food
4. Central High School Disc Golf Club
-Discs: Matt has a good amount of discs, but he is always looking for donations. If you would like to make a donation you can contact him via the forum, Tuesday Doubles, or Bag Tags.
-Schedule: Matt will be having a clinic approximately two Tuesdays from now. After that he will post a schedule on the Forum of when the Club is going to meet. He is always looking for volunteers to help teach the children. Keep an eye out for the schedule.
5. Website
-A professional website designer is going to design our new club website for free. He will begin work within the next couple of weeks.
6. Sunday Singles Series
-The Sunday Singles league kicked off two Sundays ago. This league is for people that don’t have the opportunity to play during the week. The schedule for the league is posted on the forum. Also, the winner of this league will get FREE and GUARANTEED into the 2012 Pumpkin Shootout.
7. Pumpkin Shootout
-The main idea that was discussed was having the Pumpkin Shootout at Woodmere and Mesker this year. One round at each course with 4 packs. This would allow for 44 more people to play in our tournament. Most in attendance thought this was a good option.
-Sponsorship packets will be ready within the next couple of days. We need to hit the sponsors as hard as possible this year.
-Jack Rudibaugh has volunteered to sit out and help run things as much as possible, but we are still looking for a Tournament Director.
Open Discussion:
8. Not For Profit
-The idea was brought up about turning the club into a Non for Profit Organization. Everyone is encouraged to research this option. This will be discussed at the next few meetings.
-The cost to become a Non Profit is $1163.
