2013 Ice Bowl Recap.

Post  parbuster54 on Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:03 pm

Here are the results from the Ice Bowl.

1st – we set a new record for number of players – 50

2nd – we collected a record amount of canned goods – 545 cans

3rd – we collected $ 1,348.00 in cash and checks. Gary Pendley collected the most money $ 250.52

4th – we set a new record for Ace’s - 5 with Steve Bowra from Bowling Green scoring back to back ace’s on 8 and 9 during the first round. Additionally, Nathan Filbert hit # 14, Scott Bateman hit # 17 and Drew Wilson hit # 9 during the second round.

Lastly we set a new course record during the doubles round, Mike Weidner with Steve Bowra’s 2 aces scored 19 under.

The total donations this year was down from last year’s total, but overall we finished just $ 75.00 less.

First place went to Matt Nance and Zac Frame with a total score of 109. They each received a trophy disc and $ 50.00 each.

Second place went to Mike Weidner and Steve Bowra with a total score of 115. They were actually tied with the 3rd place team, but won the tie breaker with a CTP shootout on hole # 7. They each received a trophy disc and $ 25.00 each.

Third place went to Rick Mitchell and Rocky Russell also with a total score of 115. They each received a trophy disc and $ 20.00 each.

The weather was perfect, the food was great and everybody seemed to have a wonderful time.

My deepest thanks to everyone who stepped up to help, especially Ben as he helped us peel and cut the veggies for the stew on Friday night and both he and Dave Richert took care of pairing up the players and checking the 1st round score cards. They also set up the cards / players for the 2nd round.

Again, my deepest Thanks!

I would also like the thank all of players who came out to support the Tri-State Food Bank, without you, there would be no Ice Bowl.
